Making Connections
The food, music, landscapes, and much more in India is enriching, but the most enriching part of this experience for me was the people. Being able to meet new people and hear their personal experiences living in this completely different culture was eye-opening. When I arrived in Bangalore I was first greeted by the bustling streets and honking cars. Even at 3:00 a.m., the streets in almost any city will be full of life. India is an extremely populated country, which explains the high levels of activity and the overall diversity of people. There is always someone new to meet. Almost all of the Indian people I spoke to during this trip were eager to teach me more about their country; the hospitality and overall kindness was refreshing in these conversations. By participating in discussions and cultural exchanges, I was able to get a better grasp on what it truly feels like to live in India.
