Religious Influences
One of the most mesmerizing aspects of India is the rich cultural diversity. This diversity encompasses religion and spirituality, with thousands of different deities being the subject of worship throughout India. During my time abroad, I was able to see these religious influences in India such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Catholicism, and more; there are even more subsets of these religions scattered across the country. It is interesting to see how these religions, especially Hinduism since it is the majority religion, permeate Indian culture. Rickshaws are often adorned with religious objects, as well as homes and businesses. As one drives past multiple shops and homes, it is not uncommon to see a temple lodged in between. This diversity of faiths is what made India an even more unique place to complete this fellowship.
